John KeatsI almost wish we were butterflies and liv'd but three summer days - three such days with you I could fill with more delight than fifty common years could ever contain.
About This Quote
While I feel that this quote is a little morbid and somewhat morbid and somewhat romantic and somewhat sad and somewhat romantic and somewhat tragic and somewhat tragic and sentimental, I would like to believe that it is all of those things at the same time. I would like to believe that we could be butterflies because we could be together for a short time, so we would have enough time to be happy. But it would be a very short time, so we would have to enjoy it while it lasted. The problem with being a butterfly or being able to be one for only a short time is that you have no chance of ever being happy.
You do not have a chance of ever being able to fill your life with more delight than 50 common years could ever contain. Instead, you will merely be flying around for a short time before being eaten by a snake or crashing into a wall or burning up in the sun or being blown away by the wind. It will be over before you know it.
In the end, I hope it has been enough time.
